If only power users are expected to install packages that require unauthenticated packages as dependencies, perhaps those packages should not be listed in the Ubuntu Software Center to begin with.
For example, if you try to install ubuntu-restricted-extras through software-center, then you get a warning about w32codecs not being able to be authenticated. Great.
