Actually the message makes sense now that I know what happened. You should just append to the message, something like, "(This is OK! It is not an error.)" or whatever you want to stop people getting scared like I did :)
When people read or hear the word "unknown" they assume something is wrong, which not something a great OS like Ubuntu should be known for.
