Public bug reported:

I had the same problem with distribution 9.04 on a fresh install.

The ACPI never worked out of the box with my 3 years old laptop.

I never managed to get the computer going to sleep when I shut the panel
(screen).

I usually get by using the steps found there : http://forum.ubuntu-
fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=218264 (installing some packages and altering
hal scripts) to get the sleep (I never use hibernate) command working
(in gnome).

Hope this is any helpful.

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have
appeared to have completed normally.
