I never had this problem from ubuntu 7.04 to 9.10. I still didnt have it this morning, but then I burnt a window 7 dvd and installed W7 on another drive and now im getting this Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block xxx on botting . I have this dvd writer: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183A. No cd or dvd was inserted.
Oddly, going into the bios and disabling my dvd drive as boot device (not disabling it all together, just not having it in the list of boot order) solves this problem. Weird. Before making that change my dvd was listed as 3rd boot device after hdd and usb, so this doesnt make any sense whatsoever, but since it solved it for me, I thought Id mention it here. -- Buffer I/O error on device sr0 Logical Block XXXXXX in Intrepid Ibex Alpha 5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/266951 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
