** Tags added: rtl8191se

** Description changed:

On my new Medion Akoya E1312 Netbook
(http://www.medion.com/ms/aldi/md97690/uk/) the WLAN card, which I
believe is a Realtek RTL8192SE card (at least that's what Windows XP
reports it as) fails to be detected and work.

The only option I have is to use the Realtek onboard wired LAN, which is
  detected correctly.

  I'm currently running:

Ubuntu 9.04 (with all updates applied)
  Kernel: 2.6.28-13-generic

  I'm attaching:

  dsmesg, lspci and lspci -n

Please let me know if there's anything further that I can add to be of
  assistance
+
+ Same problem, same symptoms on a new Toshiba L505-10P. The card is
+ Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 8172 (rev 10). With the drivers
+ provided below, the connection is successful but once I use Internet, a
+ kernel panic occurs....(Karmic 64 bits, latest update)
