Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
After update completed with errors, the next reboot stopped at the swap file message. I ran acronis on my disk and found that there was only my windows partition and around 58Mb of unallocated space. I assume this was not the ubuntu partition or swap file space. I have run fixmbr to remove the ubuntu boot option, and I will reinstall from a 9.1 CD. Windows still boots ok.
