I get the same error. On connecting with UbuntuOne I receive this notification:
Capabilities Mismatch There was a capabilities mismatch while attempting to connect to the Ubuntu One Server. You may have installed a newer version of the client, for which the server does not yet provide support. A new version of the server should be accessible soon. Please be patient while we update. I tried using apport to report this bug, but because I selected this bug, I'm not sure if it has attached the information of my system - installed using 9.10 RC and recently updated, on a Thinkpad T40 2373 22G.
