Public bug reported: I am unable to boot either the live or alternate 64-bit Karmic CD on systems with AMD 64 x2 5800 processor. With either CD, I get to the menu, however, after starting to boot in install mode I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor.
It appears to lockup right before the expected white ubuntu logo would appear. System also has an Nvidia 9600 512MB card. I tried removing the video card and booting using the onboard Intel display, same results. System ran Jaunty great. The 32-bit live and alternate CD boot up fine, however, I cannot use this edition due to the amount of memory I have. Is there a workaround for this? ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Karmic 64-bit CD does not boot on AMD 64 x2 System https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/467431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
