Public bug reported:

Trying to fix the ubiquitous problem of viewing flash content in Firefox
3.5, yes I have followed all advice in documentation and forum as well
as other communities, I discover it may also be an Adobe problem as
their feedback is full of flash not working messages. So I uninstalled
both Adobe viewer and shockwave, and then tried to reinstall. I can't
because I get an erro message that I already have a newer version
installed. There is no newer version, and I don't have anything
installed. I will try uninstalling the gnome player to see if that is a
conflict, but any ideas as to why I can't get any flash content in
Ubuntu with firefox 3.4? I have karmic, and the same problem in jaunty.
