Due to a package bug, the current kernel you are using is the Jaunty
kernel, even though you upgraded to the Karmic kernel. This has caused
errors with sound.  Try 'sudo upgrade-grub' to set the correct kernel
for booting, and reboot.

After upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 no sound is available. asound -l from the 
command line gives: aplay: device_list:223: no soundcards found...
