Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox
~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 apt-cache policy rhythmbox rhythmbox: Installed: 0.12.5-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 0.12.5-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 0.12.5-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://mirror.anl.gov karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Since upgrading to Karmic the volume in Rhythmbox has been set to the lowest setting and any attempts to change the volume result in the volume slider falling back down to the lowest setting. This also happens when using the Sound Preference Application volume slider. The system volume is set to the highest setting and other applications sound is fine. Banshee works fine. I can move the slider up, and sound is heard, but then the slider starts falling back to 0.
