Public bug reported: On Karmic the new Sound Preferences window gives no option to adjust the 'Front' audio output volume (front headphone jack) which was available in Jaunty. To fix this I had to open 'alsamixer' from the command line and unmute then increase the volume of the 'Front' audio output.
A option which adjusts this front audio output volume should probably be available in the Sound Preferences application. The hardware I'm using is a HDA Intel card with a Realtek ALC260 chip. More hardware details are below. jor...@rapid-j:~$ lspci | grep "Audio" 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) jor...@rapid-j:~$ gnome-volume-control --version gnome-volume-control 2.28.1 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: audio gnome-volume-control karmic -- 'Sound Preferences' in Karmic gives no option to adjust Front Headphones volume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/464544 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
