Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

Sir,
I started downloading and installing software packages through Ubuntu Software
Centre. Some of them are taking unduly long. If Downloading Data Rate and
Estimated Time to complete be shown on the progress bar, then it would be much
more satisfying to the user. The user would be able to decide to continue or to
abort. This may please be looked into.

Regards,
Satish
