I have similar problem with 9.10 RC. It freezing when I try to boot from install dvd.
Have tried 3 motherboards: ASUS AM3 + Phenom II 9550 + DD3 - freeze at boot GIGABYTE + same proc & memory as above - freeze at boot BIOSTAR + Athlon 5050 + DD2 - works well will try nosmp today. However, what the point to have quad core proc and disable it?
