sorry if what i will say won't make a lot of sense but here is how i solved the problem in my pc:
1st i noticed that in gdm.conf file both AutomaticLoginEnable and TimedLoginEnable were true although i had disabled timed login using startup manager. and the second thing i did was to put a higher value at GdmXserverTimeout.
