Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok
Well, there are similar problems around, i.e. I hear no music although pressing the test button in sound system configuration gives me the sounds. So the bug, IMHO, is maybe not that there is a missconfiguration. The bug is that I have no opportunity to see why. Does it try to connect to the pulse audio server or are there missing rights to access /dev/dsp - nothing. The error message which appears sometimes and saying something like "Too many errors in playlist ..." (well, I get it in german) is not really helpful, to tell the truth, it is not helpful at all. So IMHO this is a serious bug of the usability. BTW, I use Ubuntu 9.10 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Oct 28 21:29:17 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/amarok NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Package: amarok 2:2.2.0-0ubuntu2 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-server SourcePackage: amarok Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-server x86_64 XsessionErrors: (polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:3309): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug -- No sound - no help https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462877 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
