Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libavcodec52
What happened: 1. Start vlc. 2. Open with recording mode "PVR" the /dev/video0 device. After some time a strange behavior starts: playing stops/crashes/windows can't be closed. At first the video playback "woks", but has a very low framerate, with partly updated images and sometimes false colors. Moreover when playback runs, the "gnome-power-manager"suddenly gets started (i use KDE and never have seen such a behavior before). Expected behavior: Even if a Webcam may be the wrong device for "PVR", a crash is alway a bug, which may not happen.
