Sure, but be careful as this is obviously quite "unofficial": Download the DEB package for Jaunty's usbutils from here:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/usbutils ...And save it to your home directory. Then open up your Terminal and force-install that package using the following command: sudo dpkg --install --force-downgrade usbutils_0.73-8ubuntu3_i386.deb And that should about do it, although be careful whenever you do any updates as Karmic's usbutils will want to weasel back into your system. :P As for myself, I've successfully completed testing of Karmic UNR, and aside from this, the Suspend issue, the weird menu bugs I've reported elsewhere and the unusually slow boots, there's really no other problems. Unfortunately, the above four are definitely deal-breakers so I'll need to switch my netbook back to something more production- friendly for the time being. The strange thing is that Kubuntu Karmic is pretty rock-solid and flawless (I've been using it on my primary desktop for three weeks), so not sure why UNR is so temperamental. ;P IMHO, anyone who's interested in using UNR for production-level netbooks are best advised to stick with the Jaunty release for a little while longer. :) -- karmic: USB-Devices are not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/455408 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
