Public bug reported: Quad core intell with ICH10, nvidia GFX, running several desktops (VT8 etc), ubuntu 9.04 amd64 up-to-date; Firefox with adobe flash.
While watching some videos in flash (adobe flash), suddenly the voice stoped. Then flash in other tabs stoped. Then entire browser hanged. Then entire system start to lag, but from CPU graph in tray it would seem not even 1 of 4 cores where 100% used at that time. A moment later system totally stoped responding to: - ctrl+alt+f1 did not worked - numlock stoped responding so I uses sysrq to sync, umount, +k +t +r DID restored my keyboard (numlock started working) but I still could not switch video even to VT1, the image on monitor was as it was when it frozen. So finally I rebooted with sysrq. hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to polling mode: last cmd=0x202f000a This seems related. Although the entire freeze as above appeared a bit later.
