I think you misunderstand what I'm using. I'm using dm-crypt on the /home partition, not the auto-magic encrypted home thing. If I leave fstab setup to auto mount the /home of swap partitions it hangs during boot. The work around is to add noauto to the flags for swap and /home. Then when the system comes up I switch to the console, log in and manually run "swapon -a" and "mount /home".
I reinstalled onto lvm on top of dm-crypt and it now works because there is only one dm-crypt container. I wasn't using this setup before because dm wouldn't pass barriers with multiple layers. Now it at least seems like barriers work, I don't get any warnings from JBD on ext4. -- [SHOWSTOPPER] System tries to mount encrypted partitions before they are decrypted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449680 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
