the default message_size_limit is 10240000 bytes (just over 10MB), at
which point the mail is rejected (the sender gets a bounce message, and
the recipient gets nothing). Change the message_size_limit to a larger
value to let in bigger email, or set it to 0 to have no check on the
size.
