Same problem here after upgrading to Karmic. Problem is caused by Jaunty
installing sql 5.0 but not selecting the MySql meta package. Therefore
MySql is not updated to 5.1 during the upgrade to Karmic and Akonadi
fails to start.

Simple selecting the mysql-server package will fix the problem. MySql is
then updated to 5.1 and akonadi works.

I think the proper fix for this bug would be for the Karmic upgrade
manager to ensure the mysql-server meta package has been selected.

BTW, this was the ONLY issue I had with the Karmic upgrade on my eee-pc.
Karmic is great!!! Thanks to all the developers!!!
