Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets
the method to select a screen and then to switch it on or off (or to change resolution) is based on clicking on the corresponding screen in dht display in the applet. this is not intuitive and could perhaps needs a sentence of explanation in the GUI. the bug however is, that when one ticks the 'mirror screen' on then the two displays are shown as one and it is not possible to select one or the other from the gui. this is a bug in the gui that needs a fix (eg add a drop down list to select one or the other display, or similar). thank you for a fine GUI! andrew ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 Package: gnome-applets 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-applets Uname: Linux 2.6.28-16-generic i686 ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- display manager does not allow to switch a display on if screens are mirrored https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/459928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
