The dmesg contained the following information which may indicate the
problem is occurring in the USB driver:

[    1.033278]   Magic number: 13:916:820
[    1.033313] ehci_hcd 0000:00:1a.7: hash matches

Because the debug state is stored in the real time clock I'm not 100% confident 
that we are picking up false hit here. Do you mind re-doing the test and 
attaching dmesg again so I can sanity check the results. Thanks!
However, it's not 100% clear to me that this is
