Here's a use case where the assumption that autologin users don't want or need their screens locked when returning from suspend doesn't hold up: my disc is fully encrypted, so at boot time (normal start or resume from hibernate) I'm asked for the LUKS password. So there's no reason to ask for the user password on login since I already authenticated myself (I'm the only user of the machine). But when returning from suspend I do not have to enter the LUKS password and therefore I want to be asked the user password.
Gnome-power-manager has a gconf-key (apps=>gnome-power- manager=>lock=>suspend) that configures whether the screen is locked upon resume from suspend. If both locking and non-locking behaviour is required it may be an option to create a similar key. -- resume from suspend does not ask for password https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/440564 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
