Public bug reported: The audio system has a regression since previous releases in Karmic 9.10 beta.
Whenever a sound is played, there is a full volume pop. I suspect this has to do with new systems that put the sound card to sleep. The first pop happens during boot in the splash screen. Then every sound event triggers another pop. This is on an HP dv2610us laptop. I am not using, and have never needed any special sound flags from the boot prompt. The sound card is reported as "Nvidia HDA" from alsamixer.
