Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I put a folder in thread view by going to View->Threads->Unread, however
I was unable to figure out how to go back to normal. I ultimately had
to google the answer, and found many forum posts from users with similar
issues (eg http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-desktop-74/how-
to-turn-off-threads-view-in-thunderbird-inbox.-477859/)

It turns out that the way to do this is in a different option, Sort By.
Sort By is already fairly long, so a much more intuitive place for
threaded/unthreaded option would be in the threads submenu.
