Public bug reported:

I install prelink 3-4 month ago. After reading the notes on the forum
http://forum.runtu.org/index.php/topic,1963.msg12961.html , which states
that we should edit the file /etc/default/prelink and run the script
sudo /etc/cron.daily/prelink. I did it. And the script really runing
long time and seems to work was (more memory is loaded). But this is
only sensation.

My question. If the post on the forum is true, then what's the point
set, and then digging in the config file? Why during the installation
does not start the daemon and configure the file correctly in source of
prelink
