@Henry: No, this failure occurs each and every time after installation. That would be a separate bug.
It seems that this problem only occurs on Ubuntu (the Gnome version). Kubuntu suspends and resumes just fine, so this probably isn't a kernel problem. I'm not sure where the differences start between the two though. -- [Dell Inc.
