I have a similar problem in terms of symptoms on a Dell Inspiron 9400, also running Karmic.
In my case, the suspend only fails the _second_ time I attempt it after a fresh boot. The first time seems to suspend and resume fine (although obviously something is different). It began to occur after the last kernel upgrade (although it may be related to one of the other many packages that also upgraded), so its only been happening the last couple of days. Scott, is this the same with you? If not i'll open a new bug report. -- [Dell Inc.
