Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pm-utils

I've been running an up-to-date Karmic. My laptop normally resumes from
suspend when I open the lid. A few weeks ago it started going to sleep
immediately after waking up, forcing me to resume again by pressing the
power button. Wish I could remember more precisely when it changed, but
I assumed the problem would just go away. I'm happy to try older
versions of things but I'd need instructions.
