Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-menus

I dislike Ubuntu's logout dialog and use GNOME's logout dialogs by
setting the GConf-key "/apps/panel/global/upstream-session" to true.
This has the effect that I have two entries in GNOME's System menu: A
"Logout" entry and a "Shutdown" entry. I don't know the exact english
titles of these menu entries since I'm using the german language pack.

This has always worked well, but some days ago, after an update to
Feisty, the "Shutdown" menu item is no longer displayed, even though the
GConf-key is still set to true. To shutdown/restart the machine, I have
to use the "Log out" item first and then use the shutdown/restart option
in GDM. This is clearly subotimal to the former state.

I'm not absolutely sure which update removed the "Shutdown" item, but i
think it was the same one that replaced the "Preferences" and
"Administration" menu items with the "Control Center" item.

By the way, the same thing happens when using XGL in Ubuntu Edgy: No
"Shutdown" option in the menu. I don't know if the two observations have
a common cause. I don't use XGL in Feisty, so the bug outlined above
seems unrelated to XGL.
