I am facing this again with latest updates on kamric beta from last night. My existing gtalk account stopped working. So I added a new one, but that still did not work. I had to manually go into the gtalk account settings and change the server to talk.google.com and things are now working. If the standard google-talk drop down when adding a new account in empathy can't take care of adding talk.google.com on the server section then why is it there?
