Can anyone reproduce this in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic)? Support for CUPS authorization was only recently added to GTK+ in version 2.17.0 (first distributed in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic). Before this if CUPS requested authorization GTK+ would repeatedly connect until "Too many failed attempts" would occur.
