Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Ubuntu Karmic Beta
2.6.31-13-generic
ipod 3rd generation silver 4gb
The device is mounted correctly and it is possible to browse the contents with
nautilus
I've tried to see this ipod with these GTK apps:
gtkpod
hipo
exaile
banshee
None of them are able to see the device; I've installed amarok 1.4 from PPA
(Jaunty version) and it works pretty well

Executing podsleuth with mounted ipod
the output is:
No iPods were found in the HAL device tree

I have the suspect that hal and gtk have some wrong info about the
device.
