I'm using Karmic 9.10 beta and the problem is still there. (Everything
else seems to be going on as normal.)

To be perfectly honest, I don't care if this problem goes away or not.
I've never been in the habit of suspending or hibernating my computer. I
leave it on or I shut it off. I did successfully resume from probably
hibernation since I updated to 9.10. The power settings were changed
without my approval, though, which is quite disappointing. But since I
changed them back, I don't care what happens with this bug. This bug is
one I've had since I installed Ubuntu early 2008.
