What I expect: I push buttons Fn+F1 and get into text console with a
prompt for password.
What happens: After pushing Fn+F1 I get a colorful screen - the lower
half of it is blue, the upper is yellow-blue. There is no prompt, no
shell, text console is unusable.
The same result with all the other buttons: F2-F6, pushing F7 restores
the screen to normal, gnome desktop. I am actually not sure, whether it
is kernel that makes it work like this. It can be also xorg, fglrx (I
have an ati card) or even some different package. Everyone should have
access to the data collected by ubuntu-bug. If however anything is
missing, let me know.
Important: Text consoles worked fine until last updates - probably
approximately 2 or 3 days ago.
In dmesg I find this after trying to get to a text console:
