Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ttf-wqy-zenhei
There are many font installed by default but only a few are actually used. The xfonts-base package compresses all the pcf files by using the gzip method. Why not compressing the ttc file of this package ? Here is a comparaison with the gzipped version: ----- j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h /usr/share/fonts/truetype/wqy/wqy-zenhei.ttc 13M /usr/share/fonts/truetype/wqy/wqy-zenhei.ttc j...@j-laptop:~$ gzip --best -c /usr/share/fonts/truetype/wqy/wqy-zenhei.ttc > wqy-zenhei.ttc.gz j...@j-laptop:~$ du -h wqy-zenhei.ttc.gz 6,9M wqy-zenhei.ttc.gz j...@j-laptop:~$ ----- ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Oct 12 12:01:00 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: ttf-wqy-zenhei 0.8.38-1ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-13.44-generic SourcePackage: ttf-wqy-zenhei Uname: Linux 2.6.31-13-generic i686 ** Affects: ttf-wqy-zenhei (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- the ttc file isn't compressed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449399 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
