Is the only thing preventing this entering the ubuntu repos the inclusion the license file ?
If so I would gladly contact the author to see if he would mind adding one... (1.0.1 was released yesterday btw) 2mandvd is a really great app , it is also very usable for newbies - this sort of high quality app is rare and good effort should be made to include this.
