Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Beta / Asus eee PC 1005HA Steps to reproduce 1. Download 9.10 beta ISO 2. Use these instructions to make a bootable USB stick https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick, UNetbootin in Windows 3. Reboot from the stick 4. Choose "Install Ubuntu" Kernel is loaded. Initrd is loaded. The error message is "Couldn't open directory /lib/modules/2.6.31-- 11-generic: No such file or directory" /var/log does not exist I suspect /dev device layout is something unexpected. Investigating the problem and will report further info. USB image might be corrupted, but I doubt it. I will check it in any case. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [karmic] Installer fails to start after loading initrd on Asus Eee 1005HA https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/448166 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
