Go ahead and close the bug, I found the problem. For some reason, I'm not sure how, I had version 0.4.2-0.1 of the following packages:
- libgpod0 - libgpod-common - python-gpod I downgraded those packages to 0.3.2-1 and the ipod works nicely with rhythymbox. -- ipod crashes rhythymbox due to faad2 apparently https://launchpad.net/bugs/80530 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
