Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alsa-utils
Randomly, my pc will boot without any sound. Alsa, Pulseaudio, nor OSS work. Since this only happens once every 10 boots or so, I can only predict that this might be some kind of race condition that doesn't occur consistently.
