I see this on two machines : a HP Pavilion laptop with dual AMD
Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64 CPUs at 2.2 GHz running Gnome
2.28.0 and 4.4.1 (x86_64-linux-gnu) GCC, and a HP Pavilion desktop dual
AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPUs at 2.6 GHz running Gnome 2.28.0 and 4.4.1 (x86_64
-linux-gnu) GCC, both with Ubuntu 9.10 beta installed.
These last two days versions of the 2.6.31-12 kernel have been available
via the update manager and according to Synaptic, installed on the
respective computers.
Expected behaviour : each computer boots to the 2.6.31-12 kernel.
Observed behaviour : each computer continues to boot to the 2.6.31-11
kerne
