Public bug reported: Some times, letters will disappear or be recolored and icon graphics will have lines going through them. When the mouse is moved over text areas, which letters are visible and which disappear changes. The background picture of the desktop does not seem to be affected.
I have attached a screenshot which demonstrates this problem (it has not been postprocessed in any way). I am using two monitors, 1920x1200 to the left and 1280x1024 to the right. The problem always happens on both monitors at once. This phenomenon occurs at non-predictable times, sometimes only once in several weeks, sometimes multiple times per day. It can be "fixed" reliably by logging out and logging back in. Unfortunately I do not know any reliable way to reproduce this bug. However, if I need to gather further information while this bug is "active" I can do so the next time it happens. The problem does not get worse continually nor does it start gradually, it seems to either be "on" or "off". I have checked the graphics card temperature and found nothing out of the ordinary, and the bug does not seem to specifically happen during graphics-heavy operations. I did not have this problem with a previous Linux installation (Gentoo) or Windows XP on the same machine.
