IBM T61 Duo w intel GM965 graphics card
tried updating kernel to get rid of periodic complete freeze (supposedly
related to intel graphics card)
tried changing xorg.conf
Latest attempt had worst results:

This only made system completely inoperable, now freezes shortly after
logging in and start of X.
