What has also been confirmed is that reverting brasero, libbrasero-media0 back to 2.27.92 restores proper use of the cd/dvd drives and at the same time gksu nautilus remains operational as noted here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/439846 In lieu of reverting brasero, libbrasero-media0 the removal of them also should restore use.
