Public bug reported: So far as I can tell, by default in KDE, clicking on a .ps file opens it in KGhostView embedded in the Konqueror window. When I try to open a .ps with a different program by right-clicking, the Konqueror "Open With" menu is empty except for "Other...". This is despite the fact that according to the document type properties (right click->Properties, and select the wrench icon), Postscript documents are associated with KGhostView or "Document Viewer".
When I select "Other...", and browse for KGhostView, I cannot find a link for KGhostView in the Ubuntu shortcuts, only under Debian->Apps->Viewers. When KGhostView is selected, it fails to launch with the message "KDEInit could not launch filename.ps". However, if KGhostView is launched separately, and the file is opened via the KGhostView Open File dialogue it works fine. If you'd like more information I can to try to provide it. I'm running the i386 version of Kubuntu 6.10, with everything up to date. ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Postscript files fail to open in separate KGhostView from Konqueror https://launchpad.net/bugs/84570 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
