Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Acer Aspire 5102WLMi Laptop

During the "Detecting hardware, please wait..." phase near the end of
the install, it says:

"Loading module 'sata_sil' for 'ATI Technologies Inc Standard...'

Then, the installer just hangs. I've tried to "sudo kill -9" the "modprobe -v
sata_sil" process
in hopes of finishing the install but it won't die.

I'm not quite sure why it is even trying to install that module, because while
the laptop does
use one of the ATI chipsets for its northbridge/southbridge, I'm pretty sure it
doesn't have a
silicon image SATA chip in it. I can post the output of lspci or other
commands if that would
be helpful.
