Unfortunately, it does not seem to be fixed. Did a new install of Karmic Beta amd64 and tried to connect over wireless to this (http://www.cms .hu-berlin.de/dl/netze/vpn/openvpn/Ubuntu9.04/ unfortunately only in German) network via openvpn. First, I got the above mentioned "wrong VPN secrets" message, but even now, after reboot, I cannot connect because "vpn service could not be started". But that might be another problem. Adding output of "tail -f /var/log/syslog" when trying to connect the first time.
