Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
After having updated from Jaunty->Karmic, and having rebooted as requested in order to complete the upgrade, i never get to GDM login, nor X started, but boot process apparently stops early during init phase. This is what i see on screen: Begin: Starting AppArmor profiles [...] Done Done udevd[444]: can not read '/etc/udev/rules.d/libmtp.rules' fsck from util-linux-ng 2.16 fsck from util-linux-ng 2.16 /dev/sda5: clean... /dev/sda6: clean... At this point, it just waits forever. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Del, the computer reboots cleanly (ends all processes, deactivates swap, umounts filesystems...) Expected behavior: boot into X/GDM ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- next reboot after jaunty->karmic upgrade, it waits forever https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/440016 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
